Advanced Reporting and Tools
for Basecamp™ Users

Long time, no updates

I'm guilty of neglecting this blog. bcToolkit has suffered a hiatus in it's development due to resource shortages and higher priority projects taking up all of my time. However bcToolkit is still in development.

We have been working on the roadmap for the initial report formats. A book is being planned to accompany the launch of bcToolkit which will give detailed examples on how Basecamp and the bcToolkit reports have improved the productivity and profitability of our agency.

We have also been testing a new feature which adds a new dimension to Basecamp time reporting. More on this at a later date as it's technically quite challenging so we've not yet made the decision whether to include it or not. For now I'll leave it shrouded in mystery.

Back to work

Having taken a summer break, work is ready to start on tidying up some areas of the application and adding in some new features. One of the first priorities is to add additional formats for the Project Breakdown report. In addition to the current report which is sorted by Todo List, we will be adding reports sorted by date and by Milestone.

CSV Export for Project Reports

Today's updates include this handy CSV Export feature for the Project Breakdown Report. This allows the data in the report to be manipulated in your favourite spreadsheet software of imported into a separate database.

There are some new ideas already being incorporated into the system design and hopefully they will be rolled out after the weekend.

bcToolkit Toolbar

Now you can keep up to date with the development of bcToolkit by installing our toolbar

At present the toolbar will inform you of new forum and blog posts but we are thinking of ways to make it even more useful in the future.

Oops

Due to a small oversight, the Company Timesheet view has not been working. Sorry to any of the testers who attempted to access this report last night.

This bug has been resolved.

Bugs and suggested features are being reported and discussed in the forum. Any of the beta testers who have not already registered on the forum, please do so in order to share your thoughts.
